Hijab problem in Iran

In the interview given of IRNA the Iranian Morality Police chief Ahmad Ruzbahani said that increasing the number of the Iranian Morality Police will be reached up to 70 thousand persons. He stated that within the framework of realization of the morality security project “70 thousand persons will keep under control the morality of the people in Iran’s big and small cities.”
To note stating morality mainly it is meant the control upon the clothes of the people. The chief of the Morality Police stated that from this year the police will treat roughly with the women not keeping hijab right. By Ruzbahani’s words the morality police have always fought with them who break the laws and this fight will be continued more seriously.
In connection with warming whether recently the women in the big cities of Iran prefer to wear more comfortable clothes. In this reason worrying about wearing comfortable clothes of the women many of the religious figures have blamed on the police for not impeding it and subjected it to criticism.
To mention, Ahmadinejad administration, which was very strict about it, doesn’t want to intervene in hijab problem lately. For this reason in Iran the number of them who wore opener and comfortable clothes has increased. Meddling in such matters before the police even arrested them who wore open clothes or “didn’t keep hijab seriously”, but recently meddling of the law machinery in it has failed. And the religious figures don’t like it. And as Ahmadinejad doesn’t want to dissatisfy more “with such little problems” the people, who is dissatisfied anyhow, he doesn’t wish to obey seriously the tasks of the religious figures. If to take into consideration the forthcoming parliament elections, it is possible to understand that Ahmadinejad administration wouldn’t wish to give a serious importance to this matter. For this reason such appeals of the Morality Police chief should be considered as the calls having purpose to calm the religious figures.
