Iran wishes to establish permanent station at the South Pole

Managing Director of the Iranian National Institute for Oceanography (INIO) Vahid Chegini said to establish a permanent station at the South Pole. By his words, the project on it has been prepared and given to the Cabinet.

Stating an importance of this matter in the information given to the ISNA Chegini said that the investigation concerning this region had been held for years but this region wasn’t known enough. The center for research of oceans of the Institute has prepared a project for a purpose of research of the South Pole and the permanent station will be established for a purpose of research of this region in the shortest time, he added. The works will be started after approving the decision sent to the Cabinet, Chegini said.

By Chegini’s words, the South Pole will have a great importance in future economic and political life of the world. He stated an importance for the IRI to exist in this region in the nearest time taking it into consideration and to demonstrate it to the world.

Iran has recently wanted to participate in the concerns in the different places of the world. Though sometimes Iran’s claims at a level of empty claims, it is possible to watch the initiatives of gaining benefit even from these empty claims for taking share from a future order. For this reason, though today the steps taken by Iran increase sensitivity against it, they can be considered the factors to show an importance of Iran to the world in the future.
