OSG navigation group, Frantline Company and some other significant oil shipping companies have stated that they won’t deal with transportation affairs of Iran’s crude oil from here on. To note, the head office of OSG group is located in New York and this group has 45 super ships transporting oil. And the companies Frantline and Niva have together 93 oil transporting ships. These companies won’t fulfill more the operations of transportation of Iran’s oil.
Though the US and EU have applied many sanctions up to now for a purpose of stopping Iran’s nuclear program, they can’t achieve it at all due to many roundabout laws of the international insurance and shipment laws. Since many great companies of the US and EU countries are located in foreign countries, it was difficult to control them. But now application of the sanctions to the companies which give insurance to Iran’s oil and to the ships transporting Iran’s oil products, put into difficult and desperate position indeed the companies working with Iran. Because of this, such companies have already refused the cooperation with Iran.
To note, 95 % of insurance of the oil shipment companies are conducted by the EU laws. For this reason Iran will not be able to use the services of the international oil shipment companies in oil import from here on. Refusing of many international companies to transport Iranian oil during the recent weeks have happened for this reason.
In addition, Iran has met the problems in export of iron alum (ore alum) too. The countries importing iron alum from Iran, have stopped an import of this product from Iran for not to miss the cooperation with the US and EU companies. Iran takes the 6th place in the world in export of iron alum. It exports 16 million tons of iron alum only to China. If China join to the sanctions imposed on Iran, this economic sector of Iran will practically fall into decay at all. The EU industrial enterprises have already refused to buy this product from Iran. By some information, China will stop import of iron alum from Iran by the end of March. Though this action is explained by quality of Iran’s iron alum, actually it seems as a result of the sanctions.
In the meanwhile, the assistant of China’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ma Zhaokhu made a visit to Iran. A purpose of his visit is to invite the Iranian officials to the discussions with the IAEA. The Chinese authority said that the main purpose of him in this visit was to conduct “the serious discussions on the nuclear program” with Iran and “to invite Iran to the negotiations”. Though the Iranian media doesn’t give the broad information on it, the news on the visit of Zhaokhu to Iran has been published.
The US and EU have increased the sanctions against Iran during the recent months. Some countries have started the serious diplomatic activities for a purpose of intermediation between Iran and the Western. China is for resolving the nuclear problem of Iran by diplomatic means. For this reason it doesn’t consider positively the sanctions against Iran.
The currency resources of Iran are supposed to decrease in a result of the sanctions against the country. Appearance of the problems in the foreign commercial relations of Iran, creation of difficulties in bringing to the country and transportation of the imported goods are the results of the sanctions. The insurance companies don’t insure yet the ships transporting goods to Iran and Iran can’t pay the cost of the goods bought abroad through any bank. For these reasons Iran is going to loss its commercial partners day by day.
